Kerri Katz Fitness specializes in Ballet based Fitness.

All our classes have a Ballet influence and flair, although no previous ballet experience is needed whatsoever to join in the fun.

Each class is designed to give you a full body workout that is of a high intensity and low impact, caring for the joints, while working to your bodies full potential.

Through Barre work, clients build strength by using challenging positions taken from Ballet and Dance in order to help them tone and strengthen. The Ballet technique provides great postural benefits, muscle strength, balance and flexibility. This is also fantastic for Coordination, connecting body to mind, mental stimulation as well as full body workout.

We add Pilates for spinal stability, core strength and stamina.

What makes Barre classes unique is the added addition of a cardiovascular workout. This keeps the heart rate accelerated so we can burn calories and promote weight loss.

Classes We Offer

Barre Time and Barre Cardio

Barre Time and Barre Cardio are combinations of ballet, pilates and cardio used to give high intensity, fun workouts that are great for all fitness levels. Barre Cardio is a bit more intensive with a higher cardio element.

Booty Barre Bounce

Booty Barre Bounce is a rebound based class with a Barre twist. Taking ballet elements and combining it with the trampoline, this workout is high energy and great fun!

BarreletiX

Building on the foundation of Barre and Bounce, BarreletiX takes it to a whole new level of cardio and toning, for those ladies looking for a more intense yet low impact workout.

BalletRIP

BalletRIP is a ballet based center practice that focuses on using ones own body as a resistance tool encouraging participants to "own thier movement". BalletRIP is for anyone and everyone!

Kidz Bounze

Kidz Bounze is amazing for building core strength, coordination, balance and fitness. It is great for circulation, the digestive system and lymphatic system. But Kidz Bounze is mostly about having fun.

Each package is month to month.
Packages 1, 2 and 3 - clients can mix and match any of 3 Main Barre Methods.
24 Hours notice must be given for cancellation of any class, otherwise fees already paid cannot be carried forward or refunded

Owner of Kerri Katz Fitness

Kerri Katz Fitness is not only a barre studio. It has also become a second family to me, my instructors and all our hard working ladies. A place where women can feel comfortable, get fit and have fun.

After having my little boy I struggled to find exercise that worked for me. As a professional dancer you want something that gives you the same fitness, stamina and tone that you get from performing full time. I have seen huge changes in my body since starting Barre Time and Booty Barre Bounce. At the same time doing this in a healthy natural way in a happy environment that is great for body and mind.

This style of exercise is high intensity but low impact. You dont need any Ballet or Pilates experience. You just need a positive outlook and a tight sports bra!!

"I believe that dance has the power to heal the body, mind and soul."

I teach because I see how positively it is affecting the lives of my students both young and old. I can see a change in the people who have attended my classes. Their entire outlook on life is brighter and healthier. Dance has always been my safe space and haven and I love being able to share my joy and passion with people of all ages.

I have danced from the age of four (ballet, contemporary and jazz), studied Dance and Musical Theater in University and I currently work as a free-lance performer, dancer and fitness instructor in Johannesburg.

When Kerri Katz Fitness approached me to come on board as one of their instructors, the idea of ballet-based fitness excited me and I jumped at the opportunity. I can honestly say I love what I do and I have found a place where my passion and love for dance and fitness is reaping rewards not only for me, but my students too.

I specialize in BalletRIP which grabbed my attention with the core concept of "intelligent movement". BalletRIP is a mixture of High Intensity Cardio and Ballet Precision - some say it's the link between Ballet and the Fitness industry which in my experience is a perfectly accurate quote! With BalletRIP you can truly "own your movement and own your body".
